48 USKG players punch tickets to Augusta

The 88 finalists of the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship have one thing in common: their dream to play at Augusta National will become reality next year when they compete in the inaugural championship. More than half of the participants have a second thing in common: they are either current of former players of U.S. Kids Golf tournaments.

In all, 48 U.S. Kids Golf players advanced from one of the 11 regional qualifiers and earned a trip to Augusta National next April. From that group, three players have won World Championships: Kyle Cox (2006, 2009), Alexa Pano (2011, 2012, 2013), and Karah Sanford (2011, 2013).

Nolan Haynes (pictured right) qualified from the Illinois regional, which proved to be the strongest site for U.S. Kids Golf as all eight qualifiers from that region are past or present players. The South Texas, Southern California and Mid-Atlantic regions also had a strong showing, as U.S. Kids Golf can claim six of the eight qualifiers from those sites.

In Boys 10-11, nine of the 11 finalists are current or former U.S. Kids Golf players, while the 12-13 age division has the most female U.S. Kids Golf representatives with nine.

Congratulations to all 88 finalists!
